Q What separates PTS Security from other security companies?

A PTS does not compel their customers to sign any contractual monitoring obligation. This means if you are not happy with our service you may cancel at anytime.

Q What do you mean contractual obligation?

A Mostly all companies require you to sign a 3 to 5 year commitment for monitoring. If you are unhappy with the service, your locked in for the duration of the contract. We feel that you should stay with your alarm company because you are happy and you receive great service, not because you are under contract to do so.

Q Can I sign a contract anyways to lock in my rate?

A Yes you can. However, PTS has never raised its rates since January of 2000

Q How much do you charge to switch my alarm to your company?

A If we can reprogram your system, there is no charge to switch you over and there is never a connection fee. We will also inspect all points of protection for proper operation.

Q What services does PTS offer?

Burglar and Fire Annunciation Central Station Monitoring
Carbon Monoxide Detection Commercial Fire Inspections
Wireless Technology Computers and Networking
High Water Alert Low Temperature Alarms
Closed Circuit Cameras (CCTV) Card Access Systems
Commercial Surveillance Systems Covert 'Nanny' Cams

Q What area do you cover?

A We service Fairfield and New Haven Counties in Connecticut. However, we have customers in Phoenix, Arizona and California.

Q What monitoring service do you use?

A Our Central Station is Rapid Response. Doing business with numerous central stations over a 20 year period, we found that RRMS's performance is of the highest quality with maximum confidentiality and efficency.

Q What are your monitoring rates?

A $21.00 per month for residencial and small commercial systems. $25.00 for two way voice systems. There is no additional cost for panic, fire, and environmental reporting.

Q How about those monitoring rates advertised on the internet for 8 dollars?

A You can, of course, try them. But the age old saying goes ďyou get what you paid forĒ. What if you have problems? Are they available 24 hours? What is their response time? Do they have service technicians in your area? These and other questions must be addressed before trusting a company that will protect your family.

Q What are your service rates?

A $45.00 per hour, minimum 1 hour.

Q Why are the rates lower in comparison other companies?

A Because PTS operates from within a home. We do not have high operation expenses as other companies. We donít have TV commercials or a high advertising budget to pay for. The savings are passed along to the customer.

Q Why should I pick PTS over a bigger nationwide company?

A Having a bigger company doesnít always mean your obtaining better service.

  • We provide the same technology and services at a fraction of the cost.
  • No long term contracts. Cancel at anytime.
  • Personalized service of the highest quality.
  • We are available 24/7, not 9 to 5.
  • Free evaluations of any previously installed systems.
  • No sales people. No sales tactics. Just an honest, straight forward approach to your security needs.
  • 20+ years experience, always. A large company in business 50 years will send technicians only on the job a few years or less.
  • Honesty and Integrity are not just words. It's the way we do business.

Q I like the idea of dealing with a small company but what happens if you get sick or go on vacation?

A We have bonded good relationships over the years. PTS Security has the resources of a national alarm company at our disposal. We always have experienced technicians to cover any situation .

Q What kind of certification is required for performing these services?

A The state of Connecticut requires anyone performing alarm installations or service must possess a Low Voltage Journeymanís license or contractorís license, or be listed in the apprentice program under the supervision of a licensed technician.

To verify any license you can visit State of Connecticut department of Consumer protection

Q Are you licensed?

A Graduated Connecticut School of Electronics in 1982, Scott Pearson, owner of PTS Security, holds a contractors License, L5 185281, and has over 22 years experience. PTS Security is also fully bonded and insured.

Q How long do you warrantee a new system?

A We warrantee a new system for one full year, parts and labor, against any defects. Workmanship is guaranteed for the life of the system.

Q Do you have referrals?

A Yes. However, we donít provide letters for referrals. We have phone numbers. You can actually call our customers and hear their testimony first hand. We also have a referral program. Any PTS customer that recommends us to their friends or family receives 3 months free monitoring.

Q My neighbor has an alarm system that goes off for no reason a few times a year. Is this normal?

A The answer to this question is a resounding, unequivocal, NO. Some people are so accustomed to their system going off arbitrarily, they donít question it. But the fact is, a properly installed and maintained system should never, ever, false alarm. A gust of wind or a power outage is not the basis of the problem. It is only the trigger of a malfunction. Any number of possibilities, like a low battery or a bad contact, can be the contributing factor. Certainly no weather or power anomalies can be the cause.

Q What kind of maintenance programs do you have?

A We offer full extended warrantees on every system. However, we do not recommend it for recently installed systems. Replacing the system battery and cleaning out smoke detectors every three to five years doesnít warrant an added annual expense. Thatís all most systems will require to be maintained. However, if you feel more comfortable having one, we offer the Gold Service Plan, that covers all components and labor for any reason, including lightening damage or power surges.

Q What are you hours of operation?

A We are open and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Q What is your mission statement?

A PTS Security is built on Honesty and Integrity. Protection without Deception. Providing highest quality of security at a reasonable rate with the respect and dedication each customer deserves. Our commitment to customer satisfaction bounds our clients to us, not our contracts. All valued customers are members of our extended family. Feel secure knowing that your alarm company has a genuine interest in your well-being.
